A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder.

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone--one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship--tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

I don't know how to describe it. It was addicting, intense, surprising, shocking, beautiful, moving, incredible. I don't know how Beth Revis did it. She effortlessly managed to write a debut novel that falls under at least 3 genres. There was sci-fi, romance, dystopian, mystery. The list could go on and on. It should have been a mess. It should have been disjointed and forced but it flowed so beautifully. Everything felt so effortless.

The plot. AMAZING. So original. I got to a point about 150 pages into the book and I was like "Where can she go with this? They are on a ship. Great. Now what?" Stupid me. It went everywhere. It was intense and amazing. I was hooked. It would normally take me four or five days to read a book of this length. A day and a half. I couldn't stop. I didn't want to read anything after because I knew nothing could compare. I was going through withdrawal symptoms. You say dramatic, I say it is true.

The characters were wonderful. Real and flawed. I loved Amy. I felt her pain and her longing. I felt her need. I really empathised with her. I felt everything she felt and it intensified everything. Elder was wonderful too. Whilst he had grown up on the ship he was finding his place just like Amy. They were both learning the way of the ship.

There is so much I could say because they was just so much. I'm going to leave a lot for you  to find. I don't want to spoil anything. I want you to become immersed in the world just as I was. All you need to know is that I loved it. Plot? Amazing. Writing? Flawless. Characters? Sublime. That is all.
