Welcome everyone :) Things may be a little slow at the moment as I am in my last few months of school so I am swamped with work and exams but if you had time to leave a comment it would make my day!

Top Ten Tuesday (1)

Snow has finally arrived :) I love snow! So white and fluffy and cold and... yeah you get the picture. It has been a fabulous day: snow, two lessons and sitting at home watching the snow with a hot cup of water. Its absolutely lovely. I would love to know if any of you have gotten snow, England is in a Big Freeze at the moment, with the most widespread snow in November in something like 17 years. Madness I tell you. It is the last day of November, with advents being opened tomorrow (yay). Are we all excited for Christmas yet or is it just too soon?

Onwards to the books. I love memes. I love reading them, I love taking part, I just love them.So I thought I would take part in Top Ten Tuesday this week. Each week the topic changes and you will have to answer what your top 10 things are in relation to the question. So this weeks question is:

Top Ten Character's I'd Like to Be Best Friends With

  1. Tibby from The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. She is just so fun and sarcastic and witty and I just love her. To be honest I would love to choose all the girls, though Carmen would be last.
  2. Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter. He's just wonderful, so sweet and sincere. And he's into herbology so there is an instant connection (though I will admit I warm to a potions parter as well)
  3. Colie from Last Chance/Keeping the Moon. I feel like I can relate to her. She is lovely and sweet and I really like her.
  4. Anne from Anne of Green Gables. I'm a big fan. My mum had the videos of it and I read the book and she is so headstrong and passionate and loving. She would be a wonderful (albeit dramatic) best friend.
  5. Hermione from Harry Potter. I'm rather studious myself, very focused on grades. And she loves to read. My inner geek and her would be a great pair.
  6. Katniss from Hunger Games. She is very headstrong and she can shoot a bow and arrow, so if danger comes our way I will safe :)
  7. Aria from Pretty Little Liars. Okay this is a slight cheat. I haven't read it (ordered it yesterday though xD) but I love her in the show so I'll cheat.
  8. Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. I cheat again. I actually can't get over how hard this is. Blair is a slight bitch but a good friend and would bring down any girl or guy who messed with me. I kinda like that.
  9. Sarah from The Little Princess. She is sweet and gorgeous and fabulous. I just want to shout "I'm a princess" when I watch the film (note to self: must read book) And her stories are just so fun
  10. Auden from Along For The Ride. I love her. She is so sheltered and I feel like I could be a good enough girl friend and teach her the joys of girly thing (except pink. that will never be acceptable)
Wowza. I can't belive how long that took me. I was just staring into space trying to pull a name out of my head. This tells me I need to read books with better protagonists. I'd love to hear who you'd be best friends with :)

  1. These are awesome picks. I think Tibby and Neville would make good friends! I had Hermione on my list, too.

Clearly I need to go read the Sarah Dessen books I have in my TBR pile so I can meet some new bffs.

  2. Thanks :) Such great friends. Hermione is a very popular pick as well.

Most definitely. She is where my book best friends all come from. I didn't want to put too many characters from the same author in but they would have all been in there.

  3. Neville! Katniss! Herione! Aria! You have SUCH a great list here, Alice! I have to agree with at least half of them :)

  4. Thank you Melissa :) It seems as if we have similar requirements for best friends :)

  5. Anne!! To be a bosom friend with Anne would be the most exciting and hilarious friendship. I love that she's on your list.

Hm, who else would I pick...

Meliara from Sherwood Smith's Crown Duel for sure.

Alys from Vivian Vande Velde's Dragon's Bait and Lylene, Weiland, and Shile from VVV's Conjurer Princess.

North and Sydelle from Alexandra Bracken's Brightly Woven.

    Sherlock Holmes. Definitely.

Cat from Joan D. Vinge's Catspaw series.

I think I could just keep on going. I really do have a lot of book friends. :P

  6. Oh, and I can definitely see Blair. She does have a fierceness that would be great to have in your corner. Plus I desperately want to raid her closet.

  7. Wouldn't it just? She is just that kind of person. Her and her bosom friends xD

I am ashamed to say I have no idea who the people on your list are. That is quite appalling. I shall have to go research.

Ah yes, Blair. She knows how to do payback. The bitch in me secretly likes that. A friend with designer clothes, my dream has come true. And those headbands.

  8. This is the first list (I’ve seen) to include Neville! You’re so right – he’d be a great friend. Anne Shirley was a very close 11th on our list…

  9. Sarah from The Little Princess! I forgot about her. Excellent choice. Also, I've been eager for snow for the last few weeks and I'm still waiting. It's nice to hear that you enjoy your new landscape :)

  10. TwoBibliomaniacs: Neville is so underrated sometimes. He is so loyal. Anne is just amazing :)

Brenna: I watched the film recently so she was fresh in my mind. She is just so upbeat. I hope you get snow soon. It is so magical. I've used the word at least 50 times today, I'm that enthralled by it :)

  13. I could have easily composed a list with the top 10 (or 50!) Harry Potter characters I'd like to be friends with, but I tried hard not to so unfortunately Neville missed out on my list, but I'm so glad he's on someones!

  14. That's ok that you don't know them. I figured not. A lot of people seem to overlook those wonderful books. I have a spotlight post all planned to introduce those awesome books to all the underprivileged people out there who haven't heard of them. :)

    I love Blair's headbands!

  15. Kayleigh: I would have shoved the whole Harry Potter gang into one character but thought that would be cheating a little.

Small Review: I look forward to reading that. I love finding out about books I've never heard of. It should really interesting to see why you like them :)

    Who doesn't love Blair's headbands?!
