Welcome everyone :) Things may be a little slow at the moment as I am in my last few months of school so I am swamped with work and exams but if you had time to leave a comment it would make my day!

Some Kindle Help

Sorry I've been a rubbish blogger. Two biology tests than count towards my A level exams and two maths mocks have left little time for blogging. I apologise. It is, however, Friday (yay) and my kindle arrived (double yay) so I'm hoping you'll forgive me. And whilst you are forgiving me, how about a little help?

I'm terribly impatient and terribly nosy and the two don't work too well together. Thus, I am asking you wonderful kindle owners for help. My list of questions are as follows:

1. Does it cost money to receive books from Netgalley onto your Kindle? I keep getting messages about it exceeding my limit (which I get to 0 as I know I will accidentally spend hundreds of pounds)
2. Do Netgalley books have a limit on the Kindle and if so where can I find out how long I have left with them?
3. What is this whole email yourself files business? I don't get all the whispersync, whisper-whatever else stuff. Is there a way to get everything to my Kindle without having to pay? Will I need to connect to an internet connection to do this?

Thank you for your time and I hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

  1. I don't have a Kindle (I have a Nook), but it doesn't cost me anything to put books from Netgalley on my Nook, so I don't see why it would cost you anything :)

  3. Good luck with your exams! I'm so glad I don't have to take tests anymore. Huge relief!

I don't have any e-reader, so I can't really help you much with your questions. I don't think Net Galley costs anything though.

Do you know Gina from My Precious? "My Precious" refers to her beloved Kindle, so I'm sure she'll be able to help you out. Good luck!

  4. Thanks so much :) I wish I didn't either.

Thanks :) She offered to answer my questions a week ago and I completely forgot so thanks for the reminder!

  5. 1. No. Be sure to use your 'free' Kindle address in your NetGalley profile and it will not cost you anything to have NetGalley books sent to your Kindle. Once you get 'approved' for a NetGalley book (you'll get an email stating so), turn your Kindle on, turn on the Wi-Fi and sync.

    2. I do not believe there is a time limit for NetGalley books. At least not that I have experienced.

    3. Not sure exactly what you're asking. I use Calibre to manage my eBooks and to load them onto my Kindle.

To avoid racking up charges from transferring books to your Kindle (I'm speaking of file converting fees here, but if you use Calibre you won't have to worry about this) go to your Amazon account>Manage Your Kindle> and change the amount for "Your Personal Document Charge Limit" to $0.01.

If you have any more questions about Kindle and/or NetGalley, feel free to email me (link in my Blogger profile). I'm no expert by any means but I'll try my best to help you out.

    Happy Reading :)

  7. Go to netgalley and click on your profile. Down where it says "Kindle Email" put your kindle email (from the Manage your kindle page on amazon) -- but after the @ you need to put: @free.kindle.com

Also, on the manage your kindle page make sure kindle@netgalley.com is on your approved email list. Email me if you have quetions.
