Welcome everyone :) Things may be a little slow at the moment as I am in my last few months of school so I am swamped with work and exams but if you had time to leave a comment it would make my day!

‘If she’d waited less than two weeks, she’d be June who died in June. But I guess my sister didn’t consider that.’

Harper Scott’s older sister has always been the perfect one so when June takes her own life a week before her high school graduation, sixteen-year-old Harper is devastated. Everyone’s sorry, but no one can explain why.

When her divorcing parents decide to split her sister’s ashes into his-and-her urns, Harper takes matters into her own hands. She’ll steal the ashes and drive cross-country with her best friend, Laney, to the one place June always dreamed of going, California.

Enter Jake Tolan. He’s a boy with a bad attitude, a classic-rock obsession and nothing in common with Harper’s sister. But Jake had a connection with June, and when he insists on joining them, Harper’s just desperate enough to let him. With his alternately charming and infuriating demeanour and his belief that music can see you through anything, he might be exactly what she needs.

Except June wasn’t the only one hiding something. Jake’s keeping a secret that has the power to turn Harper’s life upside down again.

Ever since I heard about Saving June last year I have been dying to read it. I knew it would break my heart and split it into a million little pieces and make me weep giant tears. I just knew it. And I was so right in the best way possible. It was moving and emotional and heart wrenching and hopeful.

Harper is a little rebellious. She has a hard shell that keeps her protected from the world around her. But she has such a good core to her. Her love for her sister shows how much love she really has hidden within her heart. The idea of my sister committing suicide with no known reason makes me want to sob. I can't imagine dealing with something like that and it was handled perfectly.

I have never heard a road trip book and I was so excited by the concept of it. The road trip brought in the music aspect which was a really wonderful touch. There is a soundtrack at the back of the book so I recommend you listen after reading!

Jake was wonderful. He was mysterious and dark and sad and I love boys like that. It was great to learn more about Jake as well as slowly realise some of the secrets he was keeping hidden. His and Harper's relationship was a nice slow development rather than a race which I adored.

A fabulous novel that had me feeling so many emotions. Absolutely beautiful!
