Welcome everyone :) Things may be a little slow at the moment as I am in my last few months of school so I am swamped with work and exams but if you had time to leave a comment it would make my day!

Discussion Post: Book Trailers

Books trailers do not make me buy books. I rarely even see a book trailer before I buy the book. I'd rather read a summary than watch a trailer. That being said there are a few I do like.

I Think the trailer for The Summer I Turned Pretty really encapsulates the book and portrays the summer vibe perfectly!

Not only is Across The Universe an incredible book but I love the trailer too!

What a great trailer! It is punchy and to the point and reflects the book really well.

What book trailers do you like? Do they make you buy books?

  1. I rarely watch book trailers. I'd rather read a summary than waste my bandwidth, especially since a lot of trailers I have seen are less than stellar.

The only one I really like is the one for Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, because that actually made use of the art from the books rather than random stock images.

  3. I don't usually watch book trailers because I don't often like them. I don't like it when they have actors portraying the characters because they're usually not at all how I picture the character and, hate to say it, but they're usually bad actors. There are a few I really like though:

    The House of Dead Maids
    Entwined
    Juniper Berry

  4. I don't usually search out book trailers but I might watch them if they're shown to me lol

I did watch one that actually really got me interested in the book, which I'd never even heard of: The Hourglass Door

  5. Book trailers don't make me buy books, but movie trailers for adaptations do.

  6. Book trailers never make me want to buy a book, they just seem slightly tacky to me. I do like the trailer for Fallen Grace by Mary Hooper though.
